lightsabers at a wedding

Andrea Rose Galietti & Timothy Michael Walsh’s Westmount Wedding

Where are you and your Husband from?

I am from Lincoln Park, NJ and Tim Is from West Milford

How did you and your Husband meet?

We met at Anthony Francos Pizzeria in Lincoln Park. I worked at Anthony Francos all throughout high school and college and in 2010, Tim started working there. We didn’t like each other at first. Shortly after Tim’s arrival, the owners of Anthony Francos opened up a new location, where Tim and I worked Sundays together. We started hanging out after work. We were just friends for over a year. We went to NJ Devils Hockey games, the movies and partied in Hoboken together. January 4, 2011, we attended a Devils vs. Rangers game. We were a little tipsy when Tim dropped me off, so we decided to take a walk to the park around the corner from my house. Although we still argue who initiated it, a first kiss happened in that snow-covered park and the rest is history.

When and where did he propose?

Tim proposed to me on July 5, 2015, on the piers where the boats come in and out of at point pleasant beach. I ruined the original proposal. He was planning on proposing to me the first week of August during a trip to Vegas we planned with my siblings. That year my brother Matthew turned 21 and I turned 30. He was planning on proposing outside the Bellagio fountains. I found about because he texted my best friend, Megan about it and never deleted the text. I went to text her on his phone and saw the message. She made me tell him I knew. He had told me since I looked at the message he was going to make me wait. He caught me off guard that fourth of July weekend. I thought for sure he was going to make me wait longer!

Why did you choose the Westmount Club?

In 2003, I went to Don Bosco’s prom which happened to be held at the Westmount Country Club. I fell in love with it instantly from the moment I walked in. I told my dad, Anthony Galietti, that one day I was going to get married there. He told me, “I have caviar taste on a Burger King Budget”. Needless to say, on October 28, 2017, my dad texted me and asked me to meet him at the Westmount because he booked my wedding. I was so excited, my dream was really happening!

How was your experience with your vendors?

Music and Entertainment:

Legendary Entertainment, DJ Chris, kept the dance floor moving all night. He was great!

Invitations:

I used a shop on ETSY called Paper Scape Design, who made the most amazing laser cut snowflake invitations.

Bakery:

Palermo’s Bakery was amazing! They did a beautiful job on my cake.

Flowers:

The florist was Atlas and I worked with Matthew. He designed the most beautiful centerpiece, but the day of decided to change all 25 of them by adding green sponges to the top and big green leaves on the bottom of these beautifully decorated branches (side note: I HATE GREENERY in flowers). However, he sent a team over before the reception to fix them, by removing the greens and adding more white flowers, He is very talented and does amazing work, I’m not sure where the miscommunication happened, but he fixed them. My bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets were stunning. He executed my vision perfectly.

Photographer:

I used Abbey Photographers, everything leading up to the day [of the wedding] was good, we got some good shots.

Food Truck:

We used Jaynee’s Party for a food truck-style desert truck for after the wedding. Jaynee provided us with a candy truck filled with Candy, Chips, Soda and Water and Dunkin Donuts Coffee and Donuts. Our guest loved this added touch and Jaynee was a pleasure to work with.

Favors:

My favors came from Running brook Sugar Shack in upstate, NY courtesy of my Aunt Cathy and Uncle Dick, who cultivate the syrup in their backyard! How was your experience with The Westmount Country Club?

AMAZING! I cannot say enough great things about this venue. The staff was attentive, the Maitre D took such good care of my husband and I. The venue itself is gorgeous: the staircase, the chandeliers, the lighting, the cocktail room, the ballroom, it’s like a real-life fairy tale. Anthony, Bobby, and Tom are some of the most amazing people I have ever met.

I originally met with Anthony, who went over everything upon booking. Booby was my coordinator. We sat down and made the menu while tasting the incredible food. Thank god for Bobby he kept me sane and was always checking up on me. He made sure everything was perfect and it was. My guests are still raving about cocktail hour and the Westmount Sours. The best part about my wedding was the venue.

What was your favorite memory of your wedding day?

I have to give you a backstory for this one. Tim really wanted to sing a song to me on our wedding day, except Tim doesn’t exactly have the voice of an angel. Instead of singing Volbeats’s ” I Only wanna be with you”, he decided to have the DJ play it as a dedication to me. I was in the covered area near the cocktail lounge and I remember Tim running up to me and grabbing my arm telling me to hurry up. He rushed me to the dance floor and as we danced he sang the song to me so that only I could hear.

When did you get married and did you have your wedding in the ballroom or continental room?

We got married February 10, 2018 in the ballroom. We had 275 guests. The cocktail lounge and ballroom are perfectly sized to accommodate large parties like ours. We chose 2/10/18 because on 2/10/61 my maternal grandparents, Rose Barbara and Anthony Falcone, eloped on that day, and they defined the meaning of true love. My grandfather sadly passed away in 2008, so we decided to honor him by choosing this date. I also attached a charm of my grandpa and I to my bouquet so he got to walk me down the isle after-all!

Any other details about your Wedding or engagement that you would love to share?

Dress shopping was so much fun, we went to one place, Park Avenue Bridals in Verona. I was accompanied by my mother Dina, my grandmother Rose Barbara and my maid Of honor and sister Danielle. I was torn between two dresses so we phoned a friend and my bridesmaid and best friend of 25 years Leslie showed up to break the tie. Thank god for my mother and grandmother for keeping me sane during this whole process.

My mother and I spent endless nights printing out place cards, menus and church programs. If it weren’t for her I don’t know how I would’ve gotten it all done it. We got married at St. Peter’s Church in Parsippany by the three priests from my childhood(who baptized my siblings and I), Father Paul Manning, Father Kevin Flanagan and Father Herbert Tillyer. St. Peters church has always held a special place in my heart.

We made our wedding about us. Our colors were mostly white with hints of blush pink and gray. We were going for a winter wonderland theme.

Our first dance was to Bryan Adam’s, “Everything I do” and the best part was the DJ made it snow. I wanted to give my husband a little something so we incorporated some star wars aspects. We had lightsabers that we had our bridal party and family hold up when we first got introduced as Mr. & Mrs. Walsh, Darth Vader was coming out of the back bottom layer of our wedding cake, and my husband and his groomsmen wore Star Wars cufflinks and socks.
