Caitlin Dugan & Steve D’Angelo’s Westmount Wedding

How did you two meet and fall in love

Steve and I met our freshmen year of high school. Both had “D” last names we often found ourselves sitting close to each other in most of our classes. At the age of 15, we never would have guessed we were embarking on a journey that would last a lifetime. For the last 11 years, we have grown up together, looking towards one another to make the best version of ourselves.

What was most important to you when planning your wedding?

Our official wedding planning journey was about 21 months. That’s a lot of time to be planning, “pinning”, and envisioning the whole day. While it was inevitable that there would be times when it was more stressful, overall we wanted to enjoy the process and enjoy being engaged. Along with our families, we made memories of a lifetime that included cake tastings, dress shopping (girls only), invitation designing, and listening to band showcases.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?

When planning our wedding we knew we wanted it to be timeless and classic. We wanted the room to feel warm and welcoming while at the same time be romantic and soft.

What is your favorite memory of your wedding?

Although it is so hard to choose just one memory I would say the best moment of the day was at the reception when Steve and I took a good look around the room and took in everything that was happening in our honor. The band was playing, our families and friends were dancing and laughing, the room looked gorgeous, all while Vanessa Joy was snapping pictures to help us capture these moments that we could later relive through her photos.

How will you describe the feeling you had on your wedding day to your children one day?

I would describe the feelings I had on my wedding day as overjoyed, excited and surprisingly relaxed! On this day I knew that I was starting a chapter in my life that I had dreamed of for 11 years. I was excited to share it with all my loved ones. I also knew that the amount of attention to detail that went into our entire wedding planning would allow things to run as smoothly as it possibly could. At that point, all I was thinking about was this new life I was stating together with Steve!
